WFW Releases Polling On Senator Ernst’s Standing Among Iowa Voters

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Winning For Women (WFW) released a poll conducted by Public Opinion Strategies to learn more about Senator Joni Ernst’s (R-IA) standing among Iowa voters ahead of her 2020 re-election race.

We surveyed 400 voters across Iowa by landline and cellphone between February 24 – 26, 2019. The full methodology is below.

Key Takeaways:

• Sen. Ernst is very popular in Iowa. Her favorability matches those of Iowa’s other top two statewide elected officials, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Governor Kim Reynolds (R-IA).
• Further, Sen. Ernst is viewed strongly on points of character, including: honesty, ethics, and authenticity. The people of Iowa also believe she understands their concerns.
• Given Kim Reynolds’ successful 2018 gubernatorial campaign, Ernst’s similarity to Reynolds’ numbers is of particular note.
• Sen. Ernst’s standing with the people of Iowa puts her in a strong position for 2020.

Methodology: Winning For Women engaged Public Opinion Strategies to conduct a telephonic poll with 400 Iowa voters from February 24-26, 2019. 40% of respondents were contacted via cell phone. Margin of error is +/- 4.9%.
