Winning For Women Launches Ad Targeting Patty Murray, Surge of Violent Crime

August 3, 2022

WASHINGTON, DC –Winning For Women (WFW) launched a six-figure digital campaign highlighting the dramatic increase in crime, particularly violent crime, in Washington state. The ad encourages voters to contact incumbent U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) as violent crime alone surged 20% in Seattle between 2020 to 2021.

“In Seattle and across the country, there’s been a surge of violent crime. This is a direct result of the Defund the Police movement and policymakers who go out of their way to protect criminals instead of victims,” said Annie Dickerson, Chair and Founder of Winning For Women. “Patty Murray has not stepped up when the citizens of Washington have needed her most. It’s time for new leaders who will support police and protect communities.”

The transcript of the ad is below.

“Out-of-touch politicians. They attacked police and slashed their budgets.

“Now, violent crime across Washington is up and there aren’t enough police to stop it.

“So why is Patty Murray making things harder for law enforcement? Murray backs legislation that would make it more dangerous for police to do their jobs and protect our communities.

“Call Patty Murray. Tell her to stand up for police and Washington communities and support the Back the Blue Act.”
