WASHINGTON, D.C. –Winning For Women (W4W) today released the following statement after the New York Attorney General’s investigation found that Governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women, including current and former state employees:
“Winning For Women commends the brave women who came forward to share their stories. The Attorney General’s report leaves no doubt that Governor Cuomo has repeatedly sexually harassed multiple women, retaliated against at least one woman, and created a hostile work environment. We echo the bipartisan calls for the governor to immediately resign.”
Congresswomen react to the news:
Rep. Elise Stefanik (NY-21):“No one is above the law and today justice must be served.President Joe Biden must immediately call for Cuomo’s resignation.”
Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11):“Cuomo will go whether it be by resignation, prosecution, impeachment or at the ballot box for his mishandling of nursing homes. The new findings from the AG’s investigation into sexual harassment just adds to the reason why.”
Rep. Claudia Tenney (NY-22):“AG James’ report is a kill shot. It reveals that Cuomo’s culture of fear & intimidation includes gross sexual harassment of young women. From Moreland to now, Cuomo’s repeated pattern of abuse of power must end. I renew my call from 2014 for Cuomo to resign immediately.”
Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-02):“Given the findings of the New York Attorney General’s report, it is crystal clear that Governor Cuomo’s actions are reprehensible and incredibly inappropriate. He should resign immediately.”
Rep. Nancy Mace (SC-01):“Excuse me ladies, but Gov. Cuomo is being credibly accused of putting his hand up someone’s shirt and groping them…how is that “harassment” and not ‘assault?'” |
