Turning people’s passions into policy is what inspired Athina to join the field of public affairs.
As Winning For Women’s Staff Assistant, Athina is responsible for administrative tasks, including scheduling and correspondence. She serves as the primary contact for external offices and provides logistical support for projects and meetings.
Prior to joining the team at Winning For Women, Athina served as the Policy Aide for the Office of the Ohio House Speaker at the Ohio House of Representatives, where she provided research and language for policy developments and monitored legislation. Previously, Athina briefly worked as a Legislative Assistant for the National Federation of Independent Business in Ohio, the largest small business association in the nation, where she interacted with NFIB members and helped target issues facing small businesses in Ohio.
Most recently, Athina was the Finance Coordinator for Mary Taylor’s primary election for Ohio Governor, working for Ohio’s highest-ranking woman elected to office.
Athina holds a BA in Public Affairs, Management, Leadership and Policy from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University and represented the college as a John Glenn Fellow.
